The wrench is used for live-line work with alternating voltage up to 1000 V or direct voltage up to 1500 V. It's designed for holding branch connectors on bare conductors as well as piercing connectors on insulated conductors while tightening and loosening them during live-line work on overhead lines.

The wrench should be stored separately from other tools in a bag or toolbox to avoid mechanical damage. Store the wrench in dry rooms away from heat sources, in a chemically non-aggressive atmosphere, and protect it from sunlight exposure. After each use, the wrench should be cleaned. Use a dry cloth for cleaning. For heavy soiling, clean the wrench's insulation with a cloth dampened with water and a mild detergent or a cloth dampened with an ASOREL solution, then thoroughly dry it.
