APPLICATION
Electrically insulating overboots provide additional protective equipment for live work. The overboots are designed for work with up to 17 000 V AC or 25 500 V DC on switchgear devices and cable and overhead lines. Overboots protect against the flow of dangerous electric shock through the human body, through the feet. It should be used as an overlay over work shoes.
NOTICE!
Overboots must not be used as the sole means of protection. Under conditions of risk of electric shock, other basic protective equipment resulting from the risk assessment should be used in addition
STORAGE AND MAINTENANCE
The overboots should be stored, in the factory packaging, dry, clean, at a temperature of (20±5) °C. The overboots should not be bent, compressed, placed near heat sources, exposed to sunlight or strong artificial light, ozone and other substances that have a harmful effect on the rubber. Overboots that are properly stored and maintained age more slowly. After use, shoes should be cleaned with soapy water using a soft sponge and dried away from heating equipment. Lubrication with silicone emulsion retards rubber aging. It is advisable to avoid contact with gasoline, paraffin, oils, and solvents. The overboots shall be transported by means that protect the overboots against weather conditions, chemicals harmful to rubber and fabric, and against mechanical damage.
