Flame protection: The beanie meets the requirements of EN ISO 14116 Index 3 for limited flame spread. The fabric provides inherent flame retardant properties for permanent protection during use.
Antistatic properties: The product meets the requirements of EN 1149-5 for electrostatic properties. The antistatic fibre helps limit the accumulation of electrostatic charges.
Fabric: 902: Merino BX – 60% wool / 38% viscose / 2% antistatic fibre, 250 g/m². The Bird-Eye Tricot combines soft Merino wool with flame retardant viscose and antistatic fibre. The fabric provides inherent flame retardant properties and is PFAS-free.
Thermal protection of the fabric: Merino BX fabric has been tested according to EN ISO 11612 A1+A2 B1 C1 F1, providing protection against specified hazards associated with flame and heat.
Electric arc protection: Merino BX fabric has been tested according to EN 61482-1-2:2014 and achieves APC 1. In testing according to EN IEC 61482-1-1:2019, the fabric achieves ELIM 8.8 cal/cm² and EBT 10.0 cal/cm². These are fabric test results for the material used in the product.
Fabric properties: Merino BX fabric has an LOI of 28.5% and provides electrostatic properties confirmed by testing according to EN 1149-3.
Wearer comfort: The thin tricot construction is designed to be worn under a protective helmet. Soft Merino wool provides comfort during extended wear, while the lightweight construction helps reduce bulk under the helmet.
PFAS-free: The product is made from PFAS-free fabric.
Applications: The beanie is designed as an additional protective layer to be worn under a helmet in working environments where flame retardant and antistatic properties are required. It is particularly suitable as part of a protective clothing system for electricians, energy workers, industrial workers and professionals exposed to flame, heat or electric arc hazards.
