Method of live working on low voltage lines does not require switching off the overhead line voltage with bare cables and insulated voltage cables up to 1 kV; in case of both switching devices and cable lines. Generally, in some cases “contact” and “distance” methods are used for low voltage. Live working can be carried out by a trained personnel (with proper authorization) based on current guidelines approved by the working place manager. Live working personnel is required to use tools and equipment meeting the criteria specified in the manufacturer’s instructions and the following standards:
* PN-EN 60900:2007 “Live working. Hand tools for use up to 1 kV a.c. and 1.5 kV d.c.”;
* PN-EN 60903:2006 “Live working. Gloves of insulating material”;
* PN-EN 397:1997/A1:2002 "Specification for industrial safety helmets";
* PN-EN 50365 "Electrically insulating helmets for use on low voltage installations";
* PN-EN 61229:2000/A2:2004 "Rigid protective covers for live working on a.c. installations";
* PN-EN 61479:2004 "Live working. Flexible conductor covers (line hoses) of insulating material";
* IEC 61112:1992/A1:2002 "Blankets of insulating material for electrical purposes”.
